Do you want the ability to achieve everything you desire, including money and power? Certain people have achieved remarkable things through the ages and some people think that these successful individuals share a secret which has been called the Law of attraction.
According to the Law of attraction, if we think constantly about what we want, we will achieve it. Incredible though this seems, many famous and successful people are supposed to have achieved their success in just this way and there is a whole raft of books dedicated to explaining how this works. As you will discover when you read to the end of this article, there is even a movie about this very topic.
"As A Man Thinketh" published in 1902 and written by James Allen is an early and concise explanation of the Law of attraction. To quote Allen from this work, "The soul attracts that which it secretly harbors, that which it loves, and also that which it fears. It reaches the height of its cherished aspirations. It falls to the level of its unchastened desires - and circumstances are the means by which the soul receives its own. "
Shortly after this, "The Science of Getting Rich" by Wallace Wattles was published (in 1910). This book made the link between thought and money: a theme then taken up by Napoleon Hill in his all time best seller "Think and Grow Rich". In this book, Napoleon Hill summarises his findings after interviewing 500 of the wealthiest men of the day. He concluded that they had certain things in common, including the power to harness the power of the subconscious mind using autosuggestion.
"As A Man Thinketh" was the inspiration for the movie I mentioned earlier. This movie is called "The Secret" and many people claim to have been affected by its message, many others are unimpressed.
